Thank you for taking the time to visit us on our webpage. At UCiC Elementary, we
believe there are three elements to educating the WHOLE child that are conducive to
establishing the complete individual spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially:
the head, hands, and heart.
• The head of a child is where he/she learns to be a critical thinker and problem-solver.
• The hands allow the child to construct knowledge in authentic situations.
• The heart pertains to character training in obedience (deciding to do right), which
will cultivate inner self discipline and the emotional, physical, social, and spiritual
well-being of the child.
Our certified teachers are well trained in differentiating their teaching to meet the needs
of individual learners. Lessons are engaging and highly challenging. At UCiC,
partnership with parents is essential in giving students the consistency of learning at
home and school.
We would like to encourage you to come take a tour of our school and to ask further
questions. We look forward to meeting you soon.
In His Grace,

Elementary Curriculum
Chapel: This special time is set aside each week to encourage our Elementary
students to worship, study the Word, and apply Biblical truths to their lives on a
level that relates to them. We also have joint service with the preschool grades
once a month so siblings can also worship together.
Bible Character Traits: There is a character trait we focus on each month. This
trait is interwoven in our curriculum, taught during Bible time, and focused on
during Chapel.
Foreign Language:This year, students will be exposed to several different languages: Chinese, Korean, and Spanish. Each language will be taught by native speakers.
Music: Students participate in music class three times a week. They learn how
to play a variety of musical instruments and prepare for our delightful Christmas
musical and End of the Year performance. In October, the elementary students
share the love of music with the grandparents of our local nursing home.
Physical Education: Students get their physical workout at least twice a week.
They learn team building skills and develop an understanding for good
sportsmanship.
Arts: Students study the work of a Master Artist for the month. They learn the
techniques that are unique to the Artist. Using their knowledge of the Artist,
students create a finished project similar to the Artist with a touch of their
unique creativity. Come and enjoy our Art gallery throughout the year!
Computers: Twice a week, students have the opportunity to learn basic computer skills. Keyboarding, word processing, and power point are few of the applications they will learn.
